Due to the popularity of our camps, we are planning an additional Late Summer Hockey Camp in September.
This camp will follow the same format as our other camps, focusing on skill development, gameplay, and fun hockey activities in a positive and supportive environment.
Whether players are preparing for the new school season or just want more hockey during the holidays, this camp is a great opportunity to play and improve.
Dates: Tuesday 1st September & Wednesday 2nd September
Venue: St Hugh's School Astro Pitch
Registration: From 09:30
Camp Time: 10:00 - 16:00
Open To: All players in Years 5, 6 & 7, from any school
Pricing: £60 per day, or £100 for both days.
A 10% early booking discount is available if booked before 24th July.
This camp is for Years 5, 6 & 7 players who are returning to hockey after the summer and want to start the new season with more confidence and game experience. Players of all abilities are welcome.
For Year 7 players with scholarship assessments approaching in Year 8, the September camp is a particularly well-timed opportunity to sharpen their game at the start of the new season.
Sessions will focus on core skills, decision making, positioning, attacking play, defending, and match play, helping players prepare for school and club hockey matches.
For players in Year 7 considering sports scholarships at senior independent schools, the September camp falls at a key moment, the new school year is beginning and most 13+ scholarship assessments are just a few months away, typically in January or February of Year 8.
For players starting to focus on senior school sport scholarships or higher-level hockey opportunities, coaches can provide additional guidance around:
This isn't a separate group, Year 7 players are part of the main camp environment, with coaching designed to develop everyone while giving those with scholarships in mind the depth of detail that makes the difference.
Goalkeepers will take part in specific goalkeeper sessions focusing on positioning, shot stopping, and distribution, as well as joining in match play and game situations.
Players will compete in teams across the two days in a range of hockey challenges, small-sided games, and matches, with points awarded throughout the camp. The overall winner will receive a brand new Grays Hockey Stick.
We aim to create a coaching environment where players are encouraged to improve, try new things, and enjoy playing hockey without pressure.
The camp is designed to be a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where players can enjoy hockey, make friends, and develop their confidence.
The September Camp is a great way for players to get back into hockey after the summer break and prepare for the new school and club season.
This camp is open to players in Years 5, 6 and 7.
Year 4 players may be considered with prior approval, but places are limited and priority is given to Years 5 - 7.
Please refer to our Eligibility & Booking Policy for full details.
For the July and September camps, year groups refer to the child's year group at the end of the 2025/26 academic year.
