Finish the year with the THG Christmas Hockey Camp – two days of fun hockey, games, competitions, and match play.

This camp focuses on enjoyment, confidence, and gameplay, and is a great way for players to keep playing hockey during the winter break.

Dates: Monday 14th December & Tuesday 15th December

Venue: St Hugh's School Astro Pitch

Registration: From 09:30

Camp Time: 10:00 - 16:00

Open To: All players in Years 6, 7 & 8, from any school

Pricing: £60 per day, or £100 for both days.

 A 10% early booking discount is available if booked before 6th November.

The Christmas Camp is open to Years 6, 7 & 8 players of all abilities and is a great way to finish the year with two fun days of hockey.

For Year 8 players with scholarship assessments taking place in early January or February, the December camp is an ideal final preparation opportunity.

The camp will focus on skill development, games, shooting, match play, and fun hockey challenges and competitions across the two days.

For Year 8 players with scholarship assessments now weeks away, the Christmas camp is the final opportunity to sharpen up before assessment season begins in January or February.

Coaching will focus on the areas that assessors look for:

• Tactical understanding and game awareness
• Technical execution under pressure
• Physical habits and decision-making at pace
• Leadership, communication, and coachability
• What scholarship assessors and performance coaches typically value

For players in Years 6 and 7 attending alongside them, the camp offers the same positive development environment, with the added benefit of training in a group where the standards and expectations are high.

Goalkeepers are welcome and will take part in goalkeeper-specific training sessions as well as joining in match play and team games.

The Christmas Camp includes a competition where players earn points through games, challenges, and matches across the two days. In the spirit of Christmas, we're giving away not one but three brand new Grays Hockey Sticks, because everyone deserves a little extra at this time of year.

Our coaching approach is positive and encouraging, helping players build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy playing hockey.

We aim to create a friendly and supportive camp environment where players feel comfortable, included, and able to enjoy hockey.

The Christmas Camp is a fun end-of-year camp with lots of hockey, games, and competitions, and is always a really enjoyable camp to finish the year.

December camp is only open to Years 6, 7 & 8.

Year 5 will return in the New Year, as will Year 4 advanced player exceptions.
