Our Year 5 & 6 February Half-Term camp is all about fun, growth, and active hockey. Over two days, players will enjoy fast-moving sessions filled with small-sided games, engaging challenges, and plenty of chances to develop confidence on the ball. Whether they’re learning new skills or trying them out in play, every player will be moving, thinking, and having fun.
Pricing: £60 per day, or £110 for both days.
Registration is now closed as camp has finished.
Players will work on key hockey skills such as short corners, tomahawks, spin moves, and aerial skills, all introduced through games and activities that reflect real match situations. Learning is active and enjoyable, helping players understand when and why to use different skills in games.
Sessions are designed to help players grow in confidence and awareness, with plenty of encouragement from coaches who care about each child’s experience and progress.
Throughout the day, players will take part in small-sided games and fun challenges that keep everyone involved, promote decision-making, and support teamwork in a relaxed environment.
Players will take part in a series of fun skill challenges during the camp, including dizzy hitting, baseline shooting, 2-touch challenge and aerial accuracy. Scores will contribute to an overall leaderboard, with the overall winner receiving a Grays AC400 Dynabow-S Junior Hockey Stick.
Our coaches provide clear guidance, positive feedback, and encouragement. Players are supported to try new things, learn from mistakes, and feel proud of their effort and improvement.
We create a safe, inclusive, and well-structured environment where every child feels comfortable and supported. Sessions balance challenge with enjoyment so players leave feeling positive, tired, and excited to return.
This is our second junior hockey camp, building on the success of our first event. For February 2026, places are initially available to St Hugh’s pupils to help us deliver a well-supported and tailored experience.
Please note that THG Hockey is not affiliated with St Hugh’s School.
We’re pleased to welcome Evelyn Hargraves of Evelyn Hargraves Photography to camp.
Evelyn is an experienced sports photographer who regularly captures junior hockey matches and events for Oxford Hawks Hockey Club, and she was also the official photographer at St Hugh’s School Sports Day last Summer.
She’ll be on site throughout the camp taking action photos during sessions and matches. These images may be used for THG Hockey marketing, and families will also have the opportunity to view and purchase professional photos after the camp if they wish.
